I am an Associate Professor on Forest Science and Global Change at the University of Lleida. I obtained my PhD from the University of Wyoming and I was a Ramón y Cajal Fellow (2014-2019). Prior to Lleida, I was a faculty at the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment at Western Sydney University (2011-2014). I have written 1 book about Plant-Fire Interactions, over 100 scientific papers and, according to the Stanford ranking, I am a highly cited scientist in the field of biology.
I am currently coordinating the Joint Research Unit between the Forest Technology Center of Catalonia and Agrotecnio (JRU CTFC-AGROTECNIO).
My two main lines of research are:
I am a member of the Editorial Boards of New Phytologist, Regional Environmental Change, Trees, Plant Ecology and Diversity, Forests, Forest Systems and Frontiers in Forests and Global Change.
I also collaborate with industry and I’ve written quite a few popular science articles (but mostly in Spanish)
PhD in Rangeland Ecology & Watershed Management, 2008

MEng in Forestry, 2003

BSc in Forestry, 2000

This book provides a unique exploration of the inter-relationships between the science of plant environmental responses and the understanding and management of forest fires. It bridges the gap between plant ecologists, interested in the functional and evolutionary consequences of fire in ecosystems, with foresters and fire managers, interested in effectively reducing fire hazard and damage.
Organization of conferences for scientific outreach:
iGenium'17: Engineering Meeting Point. Conference on Engineering and climate change.
Conama 2016: National Environmental Science Conference. Oranizing session on Carbon sinks.
